Pricing & cost
How much does house cleaning cost in Central Florida?
It depends on the type of clean, but here are our real numbers. Across
more than 2,700 completed, paid cleans we performed in Polk County in 2024–2026, a standard recurring clean had a median price of about $136, a deep clean about $268, and a vacation-rental turnover about $161. Move-in/move-out cleans are billed hourly — $95 per hour for a two-cleaner crew — so a typical 3 to 3.5-hour move-out runs around $325. Builder and post-construction final cleans run a median of about $749. Those are list prices before Florida's 7% sales tax. What is the price difference between a standard clean and a deep clean?
A deep clean runs about twice a standard clean. In our 2024–2026 Polk County data the standard recurring clean median was $136 and the
deep clean median was $268. The reason is labor: a standard clean of a maintained home takes about 90 minutes, while a deep clean takes about 3 hours because it resets built-up grime — inside appliances, baseboards, grout, vents, and detail work a regular clean doesn't reach.
How much does a move-out clean cost, and is it worth it to get my deposit back?
We bill
move-in/move-out cleans hourly — $95 per hour for a two-cleaner crew — and they average about 3.5 hours, so most run around $300 to $465 depending on the home's size and condition. Whether it's worth it usually comes down to your deposit: a professional move-out clean is frequently less than what a landlord or property manager charges back for cleaning, and it removes one of the most common reasons a deposit gets withheld. If your lease requires a professional clean, ask us for a receipt — many tenants submit ours to their landlord.
Do you charge by the hour, by square footage, or a flat rate?
It depends on the service. Standard cleans, deep cleans, and vacation-rental turnovers are quoted as a flat price based on your home and what it needs. Move-in/move-out and post-construction cleans are billed hourly, because the workload varies so much — $95 per hour for a two-cleaner crew on move-outs. We price on condition and scope, not square footage alone, because a tidy three-bedroom and a tidy two-bedroom often take about the same time.
Services & what's included
What is the difference between a standard, deep, and move-out clean?
A standard (or recurring) clean maintains an already-cared-for home — dusting, floors, and the kitchen and bathroom surfaces in the everyday areas you live in. A deep clean does all of that plus the built-up grime a maintenance clean skips: inside appliances, baseboards, door frames, grout, vents, and detail work. A move-out clean is a deep clean of an empty home, where every cabinet interior, closet, and appliance is in scope with nothing skipped — usually so a tenant gets a deposit back or a seller hands over a spotless house.
What is included in a standard cleaning, and what is not?
A standard clean covers the living areas you use every day: dusting surfaces and fixtures, vacuuming and mopping floors, and cleaning and sanitizing kitchen and bathroom surfaces — counters, sinks, mirrors, the outside of appliances, toilets, showers, and tubs. Not included in a standard clean (these are deep-clean or add-on items): inside the oven and refrigerator, interior windows, inside cabinets, baseboard and grout detailing, and moving heavy furniture. Just ask and we'll fold any of those into your quote.
How long will the cleaning take?
For a standard clean of a typical family home, plan on about an hour and a half on site — our median across
more than 2,700 clocked cleans is 91 minutes. A deep clean or a move-out runs closer to 3 hours. Most standard cleans are handled by a two-person team, which is why a home is finished in about 90 minutes of clock time even though that's closer to three hours of total cleaning work.
Do you offer one-time cleans, or only recurring service?
Both. We do one-time cleans — a deep clean, a move-in or move-out, a pre- or post-event reset, or a "company is coming" clean — with no commitment. We also offer weekly, biweekly, and monthly
recurring service at a lower per-visit price, since a maintained home takes less time than a first-time reset.
Scheduling & logistics
How often should I have my home cleaned?
It depends on your household. Biweekly (every two weeks) is the most popular choice and keeps most homes consistently clean. Weekly suits busy families, homes with pets, or anyone who entertains often. Monthly works if you keep up day-to-day and just want a regular reset. Homes with kids, pets, or allergies usually benefit from more frequent attention to high-traffic areas.
Recurring vs. one-time cleaning — which is better value?
Recurring almost always costs less per visit, because a maintained home takes less time than a first-time deep reset. A one-time clean makes sense when you have a specific before-and-after — a move, a sale, post-construction, or guests coming. Many customers start with a one-time deep clean to reset the home, then keep it that way with biweekly or monthly recurring service at the lower rate.
Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
Not at all — many of our customers leave a key, garage code, or lockbox combination. Our cleaners are W-2 employees (not subcontractors), background-checked, and we're fully insured, so your home is in trusted hands. You're also welcome to be home if you prefer.
What should I do to prepare for my cleaning appointment?
A general tidy up of the areas you'd like cleaned lets our cleaners spend all of their time cleaning rather than clearing. We ask that large furniture be moved if you'd like us to vacuum or clean behind it — and if you need a hand with heavy items, just ask, our staff are always glad to help. If you have any special chemicals you'd like used, please leave them out before the appointment arrival window.
Will I get the same cleaner each time?
We do our best to send the same team to your home on every recurring visit — consistency means they learn your home and your preferences. If your regular cleaner is ever out sick or on vacation, the cleaner covering follows the same checklist so the result stays consistent. If you'd like to request a specific cleaner, just let the office know.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
Just let us know as early as you can — a quick call to the office at
863-324-2000 is best. The more notice you can give, ideally a day or two, the easier it is for us to move your visit to another time that works and keep your regular slot.
Trust & safety
Are your cleaners insured and background-checked? Are they employees or subcontractors?
Yes on all counts. Orchid Cleaning is fully insured, our cleaners are background-checked, and — importantly — they are W-2 employees of our company, not subcontractors or gig-app workers. That matters: with an employee team, the same insurance and background standards apply to everyone who enters your home. We've cleaned homes and businesses across Central Florida since 2012.
Are your cleaning products safe for pets and children?
Yes. We use effective, family- and pet-safe products, and we're always happy to discuss which products you'd like used in your home. If anyone in your household has allergies or sensitivities, or you'd prefer we use your own supplies, just let us know before your appointment.
Do you bring your own supplies and equipment?
Yes — our cleaners arrive with their own professional supplies and equipment, including vacuums, mops, cloths, and cleaning solutions, so you don't need to provide anything. If you'd prefer we use a specific product you already own (for a delicate surface or an allergy), leave it out and let us know.
Should I tip the cleaners?
Tipping is never expected or required — our pricing already pays our team fairly. That said, it's always appreciated when you feel a cleaner went above and beyond. For recurring service, most customers who tip do it occasionally or as a holiday bonus rather than every visit. A kind review or a referral helps our cleaners just as much.
What if I'm not happy with the cleaning?
Tell us right away. If something wasn't done the way you expected, call the office within 24 hours and we'll make it right. Our goal is a home you're genuinely happy with — it's why we've kept a 4.9-star rating from hundreds of Central Florida customers since 2012.
